Guide to Salt Lake New Home Developments

If you are in the market for a new construction home in the Salt Lake Valley, now is a great time to buy. Under pressure from the slowdown in the real estate market, new home builders are cutting prices and offering some great incentives on Salt Lake Homes.

While the greater Salt Lake area is pretty much built out, there are still plenty of new home developments located along the west and southern parts of the Valley, within easy commuting distance of downtown Salt Lake City. Listed below are some of the major new home developments that your Salt Lake City Real Estate Agent can help you purchase.

Daybreak – South Jordan Utah

Located in South Jordan Utah Daybreak is the largest development in the Valley, in fact when complete it will be the largest development in Utah.  Styled after homes more commonly found in areas like the Avenues or Harvard Yale, these homes look more Victorian than 21st Century. The idea behind Daybreak was to create a community that encourages people to get out and about. Because of this Daybreak incorporates 1,000 acres of open space, that’s nearly 25% of the total area. These open spaces incorporate facilities such as walking trails, sports fields, playgrounds, and a giant lake. If you are looking for a home that is different to the usual, and want a vast array of facilities then Daybreak may well be for you. There are currently three villages within the development, Founders Park, East Lake and the latest addition North Shore. Daybreak Homes are priced from the $100’s to over $1,000,000.

Suncrest – Draper Utah

Located in the southeast corner of the Salt Lake Valley is the Suncrest new home development. It is located on South Mountain and bridges the Utah County and Salt Lake County border. Its central location provides easy comminuting to both Provo and Salt Lake, both of which are approximately 30 minutes away. This master planned community features 6 different builders, who have so far have provided over 900 custom homes. Prices range from the $200’s to over $2,000,000. Because of its location high up on the east bench, many of the homes feature breathtaking views of Salt Lake County and Utah County. Another key advantage provided by Suncrest, is that it is above the pollution that can plague the Valley. Community facilities include a market, swimming pools, hiking trails and workout room.

Highbury at Lake Park – West Valley City

Located just a short distance from downtown Salt Lake City and the Salt Lake International Airport is the Highbury at Lake Park planned community. Built as the second phase of the Lake Park Corporate Center, the community features homes from Ivory, Garbett and Liberty Commons home builders. The community is located within walking distance of the West Valley Fitness Center, restaurants, shops and Stonebridge Golf Course. Home prices start in the mid $100’s.

Regardless of your new home requirements, there is a vast selection of new homes in Salt Lake available, everything from million dollar custom homes to Downtown Salt Lake Condos.
