A listing agents duty is to help the seller sell their home for the most money possible. They have a fiduciary responsibility towards the seller, and should not reveal anything that could hinder the sellers negotiating position. A listing Realtor can not truly represent a buyer. By contacting a listing agent directly, they must act as a limited agent for the buyer, and are limited in the information and advice they can give.

A Buyers Agent's role is to help a potential buyer find the most suitable home possible at the best possible price. The listing agent will split their commission with the buyers agent when the house is sold. As a buyers agent, It doesn't matter which home you choose, and I won't at all be offended if you don't like a house. You will likely save money and make a better decision by using an exclusive buyers agent.
